Vision and values

Vision

We understand church as being a gift from God to the world. The church proclaims the gospel (good news) of his redeeming and healing love through word and deed. Believing this motivates us to pursue our dream of establishing a network of churches in Switzerland and in other countries. The networking of the local churches set free synergies and strengths that enable us to educate and motivate people nationally and internationally.

Values

  1. The Bible

  2. Worship as a lifestyle
  3. Showing compassion
  4. Looking for unity
  5. Church growth
  6. Servant based leadership
  7. Maintaining openness

1. The Bible serves as our guideline on how to live our lives. . We search for the truth in the word of God but we refrain from being engaged in narrow-minded dogmatism. When we apply the bible to our lives, we do not seek “the letter of the law” but aim to understand “the spirit of the law”. In doing this we discover what the biblical texts want to tell us for our life today.  In all of this, we experience that the bible is a book of power and of truth.

2. Worship as a lifestyle: We see an existential, deep-rooted need for worship in all people. For this reason, we take much time for adoration with songs and music in our church services. This experience will hopefully accompany us into everyday life and shape our attitude toward God and people. We need to honour God with our life and receive his blessings. If we refuse to do this, we risk relying too much on our own human strength or we may lose ourselves in a futile quest for happiness.

3. Showing compassion: Our desire is to become like our Lord Jesus Christ. Not only was and is he the advocate of the weak and guilty, but also their saviour. He turned towards humankind in the midst of their needs – whatever that may be. He wants us to do the same. Showing compassion is practicing love in action.

4. Looking for unity: With everyone, in and outside our churches, who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord, we join in prayer for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Unity does not mean equality: The complexity of our beings testify to the creativity and richness of our creator. Only together can we communicate and see the whole picture.

5. Church growth: Every Christian's commission is to relay God's love. We do not emphasise on the institution but on fellowship: We promote, train and encourage them to share what they experienced with others. Through it, we hope that more people will believe in God and new churches in Switzerland as well as abroad will arise, in which God's love can be experienced.

6. Servant based leadership: Christian leaders have their model in Jesus Christ. He has not come into this world in order to oppress the people but to serve them and to give away his life for them. Through his love, their potential has been set free. Through it, simple women and men have been made able to change the world. Authority builds itself in the model-function and its goal is to set free other people's talents.

7. Maintaining openness: We have not yet reached the goal, and have not comprehended everything at all. We are a movement and have still a lot to learn. Therefore, we have open ears for God's speaking to us, open eyes for the world around us, open hearts to let the Holy Spirit change us, and open doors for people of all generations, races and cultures.
